About the programme
The Diploma in Mechanical Engineering programme trains students in the design, production, and maintenance of mechanical systems, machines, and manufacturing processes. Core areas of study include engineering mechanics, thermal engineering, fluid mechanics, machine design, manufacturing technology, and computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM).
Students gain hands-on experience in workshops covering fitting, welding, machining, and sheet-metal work, alongside laboratory work in strength of materials, thermal engineering, and metrology. Graduates find employment in manufacturing, automotive, power generation, and maintenance engineering, or pursue lateral entry into a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
